A Health and Safety Risk Assessment is a thorough examination of your premises to identify potential risks that could harm people or be considered hazardous and cause accidents.
A competent risk assessor will evaluate and determine if you have taken sufficient precautions or whether based on the current UK health and safety legislation, further measures to control and minimize the risks need to be put in place.
An office test fire, health and safety consultant will attend site to carry out the health and safety risk assessment.
Typically they will spend around 30-45 minutes with either the person responsible for health and safety safety at the organisation or the person who has been delegated this responsibility. During this time existing records and logs will be reviewed and noted down in the report.
The consultant will then carry out a visual inspection of the premises, noting down any relevant observations. This normally takes 1-2 hours though can vary depending on the size of the building.
Upon completion of the site visit the consultant will compile a thorough report documenting their findings as seen on the day of the assessment. This report will normally be broken down into findings and recommendations.
Photographic evidence will also be included in the report where possible.
